Time for a change

Updated: Feb 17, 2020

Change doesn't come easily, but it is necessary for personal growth and increased joy.

Change is constantly happening all around us. Today, the world seems to be advancing faster than ever and it's easy to feel like you're being left behind. You can be comforted to know that is simply not true. The greatest change we need in our lives comes from within each of us; our discovery of God, the growth of our relationship with Him, and the experiences of the relationships we have with each other. People matter most, they always have and they always will. Therefore, it is ourselves and others that deserve the greatest investment to experience true and lasting fulfillment.

Change doesn't come easily, but it is necessary for personal growth and increased joy. But what if you don't want to change or find yourself resistant to change? These are great personal questions to wrestle with and your answers will directly determine the fulfillment of your life. What if the question was 'do you want more joy, peace, and comfort in your life?' More likely the answer would be yes, but what is the assurance that change will bring about more joy? God promises the right changes in your life will lead to more joy and fulfillment and ultimately, a secure place in heaven. The gospel of John in the Bible is rich with these promises.

“God promises the right changes in your life will lead to more joy and fulfillment and ultimately, a secure place in heaven.”

So the next questions is 'what are the steps toward change?' There are three main steps in the process of positive change: (1) look up, (2) look within, and (3) look outward. The first step is connecting with God and securing a loving relationship with Him. The second step is looking within yourself and receiving everything God has gifted to you in knowledge, truth, instruction, wisdom, and the power of the Holy Spirit. The final step is to live our your godly calling with a commitment to continually and purposefully look upward to God and within for growth. It is the journey we were all created for and our ultimate calling in this life.

"The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it." (1 Thessalonians 5:24)
